She started off in a great mood.

Until the fancy dress came out, and then the mood deteriorated fast!

So we tried sitting on the floor.  It lasted a few seconds.

We tried with the balloons and with Mom and Dad.  That didn’t go as planned.

Then we tried the cupcake.  Who doesn’t love cupcakes? (She was fascinated by my “assistant”)

She screamed, though, so Mom had to pick her up.

Finally, we left her in Mom’s lap and covered mom secretly with a blanket.  As long as Liley didn’t turn around and notice, we could get her to smile.  Once.

That warmed her up enough to let Mom put her down again.  She wouldn’t smile, though.

Until we found some poinsettias that she loved.  Then she was very focused with the occasional smile.  We even got her to stand up!

And attempting to climb.

And dancing.

Finally I brought the wooden letters back out and captured two photos in the cupcake dress.  Mission accomplished!
