Zoo Field Trip

For the first time ever, Princess’s class went on a field trip and I got to chaperone (with a little help from the little mister).

First the girls decided to answer their first science homework questions about flamingos.  While we were there, we discovered a Hawaiian Nene Goose in the pen as well.

The next stop (after a bathroom break) was the aquarium!

Then we visited the penguins.

It is amazing how few of my photos don’t have the girls faces in them, and, being a public school and all, I was asked not to post any kids’ faces.

THen it was to Australia and Islands, but the Kangaroos were closed.  Frowny.  We did catch a glimpse of the Koala.  And Little Mister’s favorite animal was the gibbon.

Anyway, we then traipsed out to Asia Quest to see the Tigers, but they were closed (three new cubs were just born!) so we saw some other animals instead.

This monkey was hysterical.

The leopards were amazing!

A quick run through North America.

And then it was to the Polar Frontier.

It was a great day at the zoo!
